December with James Westby and Pink Martini!

Two exciting jobs came my way this month ending a great year for 2009. The first project was with director James Westby and his new film HOT IN THE ZIPPER.  Set in the late 1940s, the film is a comical day in the life of 3 eccentric women who share a tiny flat together in New York City. Working with the creative eye of Kevin Fletcher who photographed and lit the set meticulously, we replicated the lush technicolor feel of films of the era. Look for a trailer of the project here coming soon!

My friends Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher, co-directors of the beautifully crafted documentary OCTOBER COUNTRY, are traveling this month on the world film festival circuit snatching up awards including the coveted US Grand Jury Prize at SILVERDOCS and Best First Feature Documentary at DOCLISBOA. The film also has been nominated for the 2009 Gotham Awards. OCTOBER COUNTRY documents the multi-generational story of Donal’s Upstate New York working class family. The two have been recognized by Filmmaker Magazine as a part of  25 New Faces Of Independent Film.
